As climate conditions evolve, adaptation measures may lose effectiveness because physical thresholds are crossed, implementation becomes infeasible, or public and institutional support declines. CLIMACT develops methods to anticipate these limits and to assess whether adaptation evidence remains valid across places and conditions. It combines climate, vulnerability, governance, and behavioural information to estimate how the effectiveness and feasibility of adaptation measures change with warming, and when previously viable interventions approach their limits. The methods are tested across six cases in agriculture, water and health, and urban mobility, supporting adaptation decisions that remain effective as conditions change.
