SINERGI asked how urban-logistics systems change when these behavioural and spatial constraints are incorporated directly into planning and operations. It developed methods for locating delivery hubs under demand uncertainty, estimating rider and consumer behaviour from data, and incorporating these estimates into real-time matching, routing, and dispatch decisions. The project connected strategic questions about where delivery capacity should be placed with operational questions about how fleets should respond as demand, network conditions, and rider behaviour change. The methods were studied across Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Shanghai, and Singapore, spanning different urban settings and platform business models.
